The watch-fish

A man was angling at the lake
And dropped by chance unclasped watch;
Occasionally, as slimy snake,
It glided down - no chance to catch.

At that right moment big lake fish
Swallowed the watch as shiny lure;
Then disappeared both…watch… fish
In dark blue deep for sure.

One day a local fisherman
Caught fish…amazed…taken aback!
Newspaper promised: if a man
Names watch – he’ll take it back.
